World Backup Day - Backup your files because a backup a day keeps the data loss away

Don’t forget to make multiple copies of your digital treasures or risk losing them all forever.

World Backup Day is celebrated every year on March 31st to remind us to make multiple copies of our digital treasures or risk losing them all forever. The observation originally started as World Backup Month and later changed to World Backup Day. Maxtor, a company specializing in hard drives, initiated this annual celebration.

Pixar’s epic problems with “Toy Story 2,” definitely hit near the top of the list of data loss horror stories. While working on the movie, one stray line of code managed to delete 90% of the film. All the Toy Story 2 backups were recorded on tapes.

Here are some tips for protecting your computer files:

  1. Backup your files regularly - This is the most important step you can take to protect your files. You can use an external hard drive or cloud storage services like Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive.
  2. Use antivirus software - Antivirus software can help protect your computer from malware and viruses that can damage your files.
  3. Keep your software up to date - Software updates often include security patches that can help protect your computer from cyber threats.
  4. Use strong passwords - Use strong passwords that are difficult to guess and avoid using the same password for multiple accounts.
  5. Be cautious when opening emails and attachments - Be careful when opening emails and attachments from unknown senders as they may contain malware or viruses.

Fun facts about Albert Einstein

  1) Einstein didn't like wearing socks. Apparently, no matter how smart you are, socks will inevitably get holes in them. For this reason (seriously), Einstein never wore socks. He even boasted to his friends that, while a student at Oxford, he got away with not wearing socks . I disagree with Einstein, socks are cool as long as they have a cool design.
