Amazon's new group gifting tool allows your guests to give a monetary gift on your behalf to purchase something from your Amazon Wedding Registry list

Wedding season is in full swing and while some couples are opting to go the DIY route, others are relying on their friends and family to help lessen the financial burden of a wedding. If you're in the latter group, Amazon's Wedding Registry feature is a great new option for you!
Amazon's new group gifting tool allows your guests to give a monetary gift on your behalf to purchase something from your wish list. They can even specify if they would like it delivered directly to you or shipped as a gift. Amazon's Wedding Registry feature also lets you add items from other stores, which means that gifts from various shops can be ordered all at once. Besides, who doesn't want more options?

Here is some information on how Amazon Group Gifting works:

You can mark items on your Wedding Registry for Group Gifting. This enables friends and family to contribute any amount towards items in the registry.

You'll receive all Group Gift contributions in the form of an Amazon.com electronic Gift Card. You can redeem the gift cards to your Amazon.com balance and use the balance to purchase the item. Items with Group Gift contributions don't ship until purchased by the registry owner.

Amazon.com electronic Gift Cards can't be transferred to another account. They can't be returned and aren't refundable, except as required by law.

To setup and manage Group Gifting follow the instructions below:

Manage Group Gifting for Your Wedding Registry

You can turn Group Gifting on and off for any item in your Wedding Registry, or change the default dollar amount for items enabled for Group Gifting.

To set Group Gifting for items in your registry:
  1. Go to your Wedding Registry and select Settings.
  2. Check the Enable Group Gifting box (uncheck to disable).
  3. Enter the dollar value for group gift-enabled items (the default value is $300).
  4. Select Save Changes.
To set Group Gifting for an individual item:
  1. Go to your Wedding Registry.
  2. Select the relevant item.
  3. Turn the Group Gifting button ON (or OFF to deactivate).
  4. Select Save Changes.
Manage Contributions for Your Wedding Registry

You can view Group Gift contributions by selecting the items in your Wedding Registry or by opening your Thank You List. You'll see the names and addresses of people who have contributed or bought items from your registry, if your guests have opted into sharing their information.

Note: Each item enabled for Group Gifting has a dollar amount for contributions received so far and is marked 'fully funded' when you've received enough contributions to purchase the item.

Only the primary registry owner can redeem contributions. Until you redeem contributions, you can't use the balance to purchase an item. To redeem Group Gift contributions directly from the item in your registry:
  1. Select the item.
  2. Select Apply to your balance.
  3. Select Add to Cart and proceed to checkout.

Fun facts about Albert Einstein

  1) Einstein didn't like wearing socks. Apparently, no matter how smart you are, socks will inevitably get holes in them. For this reason (seriously), Einstein never wore socks. He even boasted to his friends that, while a student at Oxford, he got away with not wearing socks . I disagree with Einstein, socks are cool as long as they have a cool design.
