June 6 is National Drive-In Movie Day

June 6 is National Drive-In Movie Day.

National Drive-In Movie Day is the perfect day to honor a tradition that was extremely popular during the 1950s and 1960s.

The goal of this event is simple — to celebrate the iconic drive-in movie theater as well as the outdoor cinema experience, in general. During National Drive-In Movie Day, outdoor cinemas across the United States and Canada screen movies and feature special activities for visitors of all ages.

If you live near or have access to a drive-in cinema, take advantage of National Drive-In Movie Day by attending a screening of your favorite movie or setting up your outdoor projector and enjoying a movie under the stars

In 1928, Pedro Floresa a Philippine immigrant, became the first person to mass-produce toy yo-yos at his small toy factory located in California. The yo-yos success led to businessman Donald Duncan's purchase of Pedro's company in 1930. Donald wound up making 3,600 yo-yos an hour in the town of Luck, Wisconsin. It's now known as the "Yo-Yo Capital of the World". Here are some fun facts about yo-yos: The world's largest yo-yo is over 11 feet tall. The longest time spent playing with a yo-yo is over 30 hours.
